We understand that government-funded childcare can sometimes feel confusing, and we're here to make it as simple and transparent as possible.
Our Barncliffe Choice Package has been designed to provide families with added convenience by including freshly prepared meals, healthy snacks, drinks and everyday essentials such as nappies, wipes and creams, along with access to our optional enrichment programme.
The package complements your child's funded early education and allows us to provide everything they need throughout the nursery day, giving parents added convenience and peace of mind.
Participation in the Barncliffe Choice Package is entirely optional. Families are welcome to choose the package that best suits their needs, and all children continue to receive our high-quality Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, nurturing care and engaging learning experiences.

Food & Drink Fee
Optional Extra
Our ‘Food & Drink Fee’ covers the cost of providing nutritious meals and snacks for children throughout the day. This usually includes breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack and tea. The fee ensures that children receive balanced, age-appropriate meals prepared in accordance with nutritional guidelines and individual dietary requirements or allergies. It may also include drinks such as milk and water, which are made available throughout the day. This fee supports the planning, preparation, and provision of meals by qualified staff, often using fresh ingredients where possible.

Intimate Care Fee
Optional Extra
Our ‘Intimate Care Fee’ covers the provision and management of essential personal care items and routines to ensure children’s hygiene, comfort, and well being through-out the day. This fee typically includes the supply of nappies, nappy sacks, baby wipes, and barrier creams used during regular changing routines. It also covers the application of suncream to protect children during outdoor play, as well as the safe administration of necessary medication in accordance with the nursery’s administrating medication policy. By including these items and services, the nursery ensures consistent, high-quality care without requiring parents to provide individual supplies, supporting a hygienic and nurturing environment for all children.

Enrichment Package
Optional Extra
Our Enrichment Package offers children the opportunity to enjoy a variety of exciting experiences throughout the year that complement our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Activities may include music and movement sessions, sports activities, cooking, educational workshops, specialist visitors, animal encounters and seasonal celebrations, all designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, confidence and a love of learning. Participation is entirely optional, and all children continue to receive our high-quality EYFS curriculum and engaging learning opportunities every day.
