The Working Parent Entitlement

Please note that from September 2025 all children who are eligible for working parent entitlement will receive 30 hours funding the term after their child turns 9 months.

Who is eligible?

If you think you are eligible for the funding, please apply as soon as is possible using the HMRC website.

You can confirm your eligibility by visiting www.childcarechoices.gov.uk.

Once you have received confirmation of their eligibility from HMRC, you will receive a 11-digit code, starting with 50.

The term before your child turns 9 months, 2 years or 3 years old, we will contact all parents that maybe be eligible to claim the working parent entitlement.

On receipt of eligibility, you will be required to complete a Kirklees Council Parent Agreement Form. There will also be a copy the Terms of the Agreement and Key Fact statement to explain how the funding works.

Barncliffe Day Nursery will then be required to confirm the validity of this code through the Providers Portal' of FEEC Kirklees Funding Team.

Barncliffe Day Nursery offers flexible care between 7:30am and 6pm. Offering Full Year stretched funding and Term Time Only session.

Working Parent 30-Hour Funding

Full Year 30-hour Entitlement Stretched Funding

Children that access WPE (working parent entitlement) are eligible to access up to 1140 of early education a year. This can be stretched over the stretched year 51 weeks. Depending on their sessions.

Stretched over 51 weeks.                                                                                                                                       

Children that stretch their entitlement over the year will have access to 20 hours per week. Totalling a 1020 of funding over 51 weeks.

Model One

One Day Session

Children that attend for one day per week and stretch their funding will have access to 10hrs per week x 51 weeks = 510hrs of funding.

•           Session 1 - 7:30am till 17:30pm (10hrs) 

•            Session 2 - 8am till 6pm (10hrs) 

Please be advised that Famly automatically sets your daily shift to 7:30am till 6pm (10.5hrs) so an additional ½ an hour is charged, if sessions are not confirmed.

Two Or More Day Sessions

Full Year

Children that attend for two or more day per week and stretch their funding, will have access to 20 hours per week totalling 20hrs x 51 weeks = 1020hrs

Two Day’s will be covered by the WPE Funding, and any additional sessions will be charged at our normally daily fee.

•            Session 1 - 7:30am till 17:30pm (20hrs) 

•            Session 2 – Five x 4hrs sessions: For example, 7:30am till 11:30am

Please be advised that Famly automatically sets your daily shift to 7:30am till 6pm (10.5hrs) so an additional ½ an hour is charged, if sessions are not confirmed.

Term Time

Term Time ONLY Entitlement

Children that access WPE (working parent entitlement) are eligible to access up to 1140 hrs of free early education a year. This is based on 30 hrs over 38 weeks.

One Day Sessions

Children that attend for 1 day per week will have access to 10hrs per week x 38 weeks = 180hrs of funding.

•            Session 1 - 7:30am till 17:30pm (20hrs) 

•            Session 2 – Five x 4hrs sessions: For example, 7:30am till 11:30am (limited places)

•            Please be advised that Famly automatically sets your daily shift to 7:30am till 6pm (10.5hrs) so an additional ½ an hour is charged, if sessions are not confirmed.

Two Or More Day Sessions

Children that attend for 2 or mores day per week, Term Time Only, will have access to 30 hours per week depending on number of weekly sessions.

•            Session 1 - Two or Three sessions x 10 hrs sessions: For Example, 7:30am till 17:30pm (10hrs)   or 8am till 6pm (10hrs) 

•            Session 2 – Four x 7.5hrs sessions: For example, 8:30am till 16:00pm 

•            Session 3 – Five x 6hrs sessions: For example, 9:30am till 15:30pm 

Please be advised that Famly automatically sets your daily shift to 7:30am till 6pm (10.5hrs) so an additional ½ an hour is charged, if sessions are not confirmed.

 

Kirklees Agreement Form & Key Facts

If your child is due to start their funding a Kirklees Agreement Form and Key Facts, will need to be completed. Once you have obtained your code, please could you complete the forms and return it back to the setting by along with a copy of your child’s birth certificate.
